I just read on the LinkedIn page of ViennaBusiness (Vienna Business Agency) that BIO-Europe 2025 in Vienna achieved record-breaking success — a remarkable highlight for the city and the industry.

Last week, Vienna proudly hosted the international life sciences community, BIO-Europe 2025. The city welcomed thousands of innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers from around the world, transforming Austria’s capital into a vibrant hub of life sciences for three unforgettable days.

With more than 6,000 participants from over 60 countries and nearly 33,000 partnering meetings, BIO-Europe 2025 was the largest edition ever. The Austrian delegation alone reached a new milestone with almost 260 participants.

What makes BIO-Europe so important?

BIO-Europe is recognised as one of Europe’s largest biopharma conferences, a place where ideas meet investment and collaborations take shape. Since its first Vienna edition years ago, the event has returned to the city several times — most recently in 2019 and now again in 2025 — underscoring Vienna’s role as a trusted stage for global biotech exchange.

The program blended formal partnering sessions with informal networking, including memorable evenings at Vienna’s City Hall. The atmosphere was charged with energy, optimism, and opportunity. At the same time, discussions tackled the sector’s pressing challenges: how to accelerate commercialisation, improve regulatory efficiency, and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness in biotech.

As host, Vienna showcased exactly what makes BIO-Europe thrive: cutting-edge science, global connections, and a supportive environment where collaboration can flourish.
